Want a great source of energy? Want a break from those nasty pre-workout supplements? Well here is a healthy food source than can give you that boost you need to get you through the day after that early workout. Here you can learn about the super fruit that is the banana and how it can benefit your workout!




Vitamins!


Bananas are no stranger to vitamins. Bananas are best known for carrying potassium which can lower blood pressure levels for those who are struggling with cardiac problem. Bananas also carry the B6 vitamin which can boost you immune system so you can fight off deadly pathogens. Bananas can also carry the ever so helpful C vitamin which has a variety of health factor including fighting cancer and other diseases.


Carbs!


Speaking of energy, Bananas carry a boat load of carbohydrates. Most of the carbs found in bananas come from starch which makes up 80% of a single banana. Bananas are most useful when eaten 30 minute before a workout so that the carbohydrates within the banana can digest giving you that plentiful energy you need. Make sure to work hard so your body can burn off that starch. 2 medium sized or 1 large banana are recommended to get your energy boost.


Potassium


This key element helps you muscles expand and contract. This is very important to ingest before your workout to avoid any interruptive injuries. Potassium also helps your muscles recover, maintain blood pressure levels and keeps your heart pumping steadily. An average banana contains 422mg of potassium making it a good element to add to your recovery plan.


Sweet treat


Bananas taste amazing! Combine your sliced bananas with some dairy free yogurt or ice-cream. Egg free waffles topped with maple syrup an banana slices. Or how about a blueberry, almond milk smoothie bowl with kiwi and banana slices. Add a banana to any sweet tasting bowl, dish, or smoothie of your choice.
