Protein Comparison
Cooked broccoli contains 3 grams of protein per cup where as one strip of steak contains 62 grams of protein. it may seem as if streak gets the win in the protein department, however, those numbers are deceiving. These numbers are not counting the protein numbers per 1 calorie. Lets take 100 calories of each item and compare how much protein is in each. 100 calories of pure red steak equates to 12.8 grams of protein which is a little more than half of the protein count in 100 grams of broccoli which come out to 22.2 grams. Per caloric intake broccoli has almost twice the amount of protein. The only reason why people prefer the miniscule amount of protein that steak has is that it is easy and more accessible to prepare.
Health Risks
Every food as its flaws to give, some can be as minor as a fever or a stomach ache, and some can be more sever as heart disease or food poisoning. Lets start with broccoli, some of health risks include a high risk of gas and possibly an upset stomach when eaten raw. However, these side effects mean that your bowel digestion is functioning properly given that the vegetable itself is known to help in that area of your body. On to steak, when eaten raw you put your body at risk from developing bacterial diseases such as Salmonella and Staphylococcus Aureus. Although, cooking the meat kills off those dangerous bacteria's eating steak still can cause long term problems such as heart disease and colon cancer. These facts alone prove that broccoli is the safer option. However, because red meat are easily accessible and often times are a preferred taste people flock to it.

This analysis prompts some very interesting questions on the choices people make regarding how they eat. Why would people choose to further harm their body only to get a fraction of the benefits another choice would provide? Why take the easy route knowing it will only harm you, when there is another route that can be take that is more beneficial? It is because people are more prompt to take the easy path?
